Our Company

Since its foundation in 1967, Alfa Standard has used its own specialist expertise to develop a comprehensive range of high performance and reliable Isolated Phase Bus Duct (IPB) systems.
IPB systems is a very well known high current Power Plant conductor necessary to energize every arising new power Plant in the world.
Alfa Standard is an Italian ISO 9001 and 14001 certified company: in the world of big Power Plants, Alfa Standard has been using its own specialist expertise to develop a comprehensive range of high performance and reliable Isolated Phase Bus Duct (IPB) systems and associated Cubicles & Compartments together with other Generation Bus Systems and Sub-Systems. We meet the requirements of all applicable worldwide standards e.g. International (IEC), USA (IEEE/ANSI), and Canadian (CSA) as well as many domestic and regional laws and regulations.
Alfa Standard has progressively grown as one of the leading manufacturers of Bus Duct Systems in the world, as well as a reliable international partner to supply, design, plan, manufacture, quality assure, test, export pack, ship, receive, install, commission and maintain our range of products. Many key clients have used us as “Turnkey Contractor” for IPB supply, installation and commissioning from Generator(s) to GSU Transformer(s).
In its 50 years experience, Alfa Standard has supplied equipments to a great number of leading Contractors, EPCs, Power Authorities & Utility clients around the world. These include Nuclear, Coal, Gas, Hydro and Thermal Power Plants, (Automotive Plants, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Plants, Iron and Steel Industries, Paper and Mill Installations, Power and Desalination Plants, Hospitals, Buildings and Services Facilities).
In 2004, a J.V. was created with Shandong Dachi Electric Co. Ltd. for manufacturinfg Alfa Standard Isolated Phase Bus in China, thus creating the Shandong Alfa Electric Dachi Co. Ltd. This facility is used mainly for supply projects in that territory, whilst our Italian facility remains the primary place of manufacture for projects elsewhere.
In 2004, Alfa Standard made the acquisition of the Company CGS Instrument Transformers, specialized in manufacturing MV & LV Current & Voltage Instrument Transformers.

CGS Instrument Transformers, with its offices and manufacturing plant located in Monza (Italy), continues the tradition in the market of current and voltage transformers started by Camillo Olivetti in 1896 and developed for more than a century by CGS as Marconi Automation, Alstom CGS and Monza Instrument Transformers.
Today CGS is part of the Italian industrial group Alfa Standard S.p.A., whose 40 years of experience in both Italian and international electrical markets represents the best reliability for our customers.

Located in the industrial park of Chengwu County in Shandong Province, Shandong Dachi Electric Co. Ltd. employs about 900 persons and covers an area of 200,000 square meters. The factory produces more than 20 transformers series, over 280 models with a production capacity of 20 millions KVA per year.
In 2004, Alfa Standard and Shandong Dachi Electric Co. Ltd. set up a Joint Venture (50% each society) to serve Chinese and South East Asian customers concerning Isolated Phase Bus Ducts (Note: This facility is used mainly for manufacture for projects in that territory, whilst our Italian facility will remain the primary place of manufacture for projects elsewhere).

WELDING CERTIFICATES AND PROCEDURES

Alfa Standard holds a complete documented welding process in order to assure the correct execution of welding on aluminum, copper and steel, in conformity to ASME standard - Section IX. Alfa Standard welding certifications and documentations include the following:

Welding Procedure Qualification Record (PQR)

Welding Procedure specification (WPS)

Welding Procedure Qualification (WPQ)

Above mentioned certificates and procedures include all type of welding features which could be needed and applied manufacturing a wide range of metal-alloys and steel products. Moreover Alfa Standard is able to perform the welding on aluminum in conformity to European Standards. Alfa Standard second level welding inspectors are able to carry out liquid penetrant inspections.

TYPE TEST CERTIFICATION

Fully Type Tested Products according to IEC, ANSI and CSA standards. Medium Voltage Busducts and Switchboards comply with IEC 60271-1 and IEC 62271-200 requirements while Low Voltage products are in strict compliance with IEC 439. Type get certificated include, but not limited to:
